So we had the lights out (note past tense) and I was just getting settled in to try and go to sleep. Ro was playing her ds when I heard her hit something, say "ow. Oh, there's a crack in the window, I should try and do something about that. I'm thirsty. I need to get up and get some water." I didn't roll over, but said, "are you done, Ibu?" And then we both cracked up laughing. It was funnier than when Ro was getting her pillows settled and was talking to them, looked at me and said, "yes, I'm talking to my pillows and sometimes they talk back." Then her eyes got wide and she said, "did I just say that out loud?"
another Ro story
Mar. 17th, 2011 10:40 pmWe watched St. Rudolph and the side Fudomine myus tonight. Tuti just cracked us up the side Fudomine myu, I kept waiting for Tezuka to kill him. *grins*
A little back story for you. Ro loves Mamoru Miyano to death. And we have a running joke that we took from Dream Live 4th and any time we see him, hear him or one of his songs pops up on iTunes (or Ro is feeling down) one of us will say "Ishida desu" and the other one has to reply "Ishida desu" or they get hit. So you can imagine what it sounds like during any myu where he's appearing. *grins* So we're watching and randomly saying "Ishida desu" and then I, for some reason, said "Fuji." Ro sits upright on the sofa and starts looking around the room like she's expecting to see Fuji in her house!!!! I just looked at her, laughing, and asked what the hell she was doing because there was no way he'd be in the house. She said that showed how much I knew. I told her it was totally going up on livejournal. And it's not even Kime-hime she likes, it's Furukawa Yuuta and the anime Fuji in general.
On a side note, I just pre-ordered the DVD for the musical Samurai 7. It's out next month. So like two or three weeks. I've got three releases next month and the anime convention. Really excited. *bounces*

random silliness with Ro
Mar. 17th, 2011 12:36 pmWe were on the phone last night talking about our plans for the day and what's going on in Japan and Ro asks me if I got her email. We tend to email randomness to each other all the time, so I asked her which one. She couldn't remember and asked me which was the last one I got. I told her I thought it was Dori-kun's blog picture. We went off on a couple of tangents and then she remembered.
R - "Look at Oushi's blog."
L - "That's easy for you to say."
R - "I tried to say Ouji and Oishi at the same time." (Note that Oishi is Takiguchi)
L - "That's how we got battletude."
R - "Yeah, so go look at Ouji's blog."
L - "You mean Oisihi?"
R - "Yeah, yeah, Oishi."
L - "Okay, because I already checked Ouji's and it was a picture of his baby."
R - "I know, I saw it. So cute."

L - "Okay, I'm there."
R - "There's no picture on the day you need to look at."
L - "So is it the 15th or the 17th, because there's a picture on the 17th."
R - "It's probably the 15th, no, wait, there was a picture. Like a power meter for the power company."
L - "That's not what I'm seeing. It's a clear plastic bucket with yen in it."
R - "Yeah, that's it. I saw it and thought of a power meter."
L - "Ro, it looks nothing like a power meter. Are you sure I'm on the right blog?"
R - "Yeah, there should be some red on it. Is there red?"
L - "There's pink."
R - "Close enough. Translate and read it."
L - "You know, it's a good thing no one ever listens to these conversations we have."
That's a fairly typical conversation between the two of us, especially after midnight. Just thought I'd share some silliness for the day. I'm getting ready to go out and see if I can find a short black wig that I can gel to play Inui at the convention. And I have to learn how to style a wig because Ro want's to play both Eiji and Marui and use the same wig for it. I found a good wig, I just have to learn what to do next.

Last night while I was at work we talked on the phone for about half and hour or so and I mentioned that I'd done some work with my Japanese notes and now things made a lot more sense. For instance, gohan doesn't just mean rice, it can also mean meal or (with the proper time added onto it, breakfast, lunch, dinner). So I told Ro that gohan doesn't mean rice and before I could continue with the sentence, she got distracted. She has major ADD, to the point of forgetting what she's saying as she's saying it. I commented that the conversation was dead. Ro replied, no we were talking about rice. I said what is there to say about rice? It's a grain. It grows in paddies in Asia. It can be white or brown. Ro added in that it can be black. I picked up and said it can also be wild and that I can't stand wild rice because it's too chewy.
Then I paused for a second and said, Ro.
We both lost it. I was crying by the time we both stopped laughing.
Maybe you had to be there, but it still gives me the giggles. And was the only good thing that happened at work last night too. We had two bloody players for three hours. On the same table. BORING!!!!!

Ro is house-sitting for the next few days and is in bed with a cold at the same time. So she calls me today, rather doped up on cold meds, and is telling me how few channels the house she's at has.

It quite literally sent me into hysterics that she had to wait ten minutes for me to stop laughing. I seriously had this image of a TV with half the screen blank and the other half showing whatever was on at the time.
And I'll laugh at myself here too (Spongebob says it's important). Whilst we were driving down to Portland, OR for the anime convention, Ro and I were talking about how Michael Lindsay hadn't really changed the voice for Konkoro on Naruto and he sounded like Kisuke Urahara from Bleach. The line in question is something like "if you go into battle with that attitude, you will die." Which is something Kisuke would say.
I flubbed it. I said battle-tude.
Ro wishes she'd made that one up.
I'll post in a bit with updates.
