30 days of Prince of Tennis - Day 7 and mini-rant

Your favorite pairing

When I first entered the fandom I was a total Platinum pair fangirl. But I've since become extremely pissed off at Yagyuu and, while I'll still write them, my favorite pairing has switched to..........





I'm not sure when I fell in love with this pairing, but I rather suspect it has to do with my 8-some piece and how I kept putting Yukimura and Niou together along with how upset I am with Yagyuu. That's not to say all my stories with this pairing are happy, I've got a couple of torture Niou pieces, but it also spawned a Massu/Masa piece that I'm still working on.


Which leads quite neatly into the rant.

Guys, please, I'm begging you. When you ask me to update a piece or see that I've updated a piece, don't flame me. I'm doing my best and going where the story is taking me. I don't really think my stories through to the end, so I rarely if ever know what's going to happen before it does and it really hurts me when I get reviews that border on or are outright flames. I had planned to spend the whole day writing because Ro had a workout and we didn't have movie night tonight. I have a pulled muscle in my back, but had worked out a way to be at the computer without it hurting too much. I decided to start with TDC because I know a lot of readers want to know what's going to happen next and had plans for three or four other pieces as well, including some fan fiction works. One of the first reviews I got is more or less a flame and it just killed all my enthusiasm to write tonight. I'm pretty thick skinned when it comes to reviews/feedback/flames and rejections, but it still hurts.
Consider your words carefully, please, not only for me but other reviews you might leave as well.
So now I don't know when I'll be updating anything again. I've got to get back into the mood to write and work is going to be hell for the next few weeks. I'll apologize in advance.


I'm going to go play a video game.

Hey, I'm sorry to hear that one of your stories got flamed :( It's rough when you've worked so hard and that happens. Even though I'm a pretty hardcore Platinum Pair person, I would never bring someone down because their story doesn't match what I like. x.x I mean, if you don't like the pairing in the first place, then don't read it obviously.

Thanks. :) The fic is a multi-fandom spanning piece that's lost popularity since I added in PoT, Fuuma no Kojiro and Tokyo Ghost Trip. I guess not a lot of anime/jdrama fans in the other fandoms I was writing in. *snickers*

Flamers are no fun, especially if it's about pairings. I agree with Hymn-san, totally. (Although I'm not much of a Platinum fan but you know what I mean) I mean, I don't like GP, only in the myus, as you know, but I still read fanfics with them as a pair, if they're by people I respect as writers, or if they're a side pairing, like in Change children or such.

Totally. :( To have someone faithfully read a fic for years - and that's how long this one has been going - and then turn around and do this doubles the hurt. It's a name I recognize and have come to know on the reviews page because of how faithfully they've read and reviewed. *sighs*

Maybe edged out by snow white, but I'm still undecided on it, so went with this one. *Grins*

I don't either, but I guess they're a hazard if you're going to write fan fiction. Who knows, maybe the people who do book reviews for the papers are flamers in their own right, just no one calls them that.

Flamers >_>. Makes you wonder if they even consider the fact that, if they have the "skills" to flame another person, why don't they write their own piece?

I normally just laugh and don't let it bug me, but as I said above, this is a pretty loyal reader who always reviews so it just stings more. *sighs*

I dunno what the flamer wrote about, but there'll always be people like that. Try to not think about it too much, one should write for ones own sake, not other peoples.
